Chef/Cook

the herb farm and cafe is a dynamic small family-owned business in the Manawatu.

We are passionate about providing an exceptional experience to all our valued customers and we are looking for a highly motivated, hard working and passionate person to join our committed team.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Cafe Manager you will be responsible for;

- preparing and cooking fresh delicious and healthy food for the menu and cabinet

- presenting food in an attractive and creative manner

- preparation and cooking for the catering of events and bookings such as weddings and corporate functions

- assisting with the creation of wonderful new menus in-line with our philosophy

- cleaning and general kitchen duties

 
THE PERFECT PERSON FOR THIS ROLE WOULD HAVE THESE QUALITIES;

- experience working as a chef or cook

- genuine passion for delicious healthy food including organic and local produce

- hard-working and reliable

- positive attitude and good communication skills

- well organised with the ability to follow instructions accurately

- strong belief in the herb farm's vision and company values

- ability to work as part of a close knit team

- extremely efficient and able to cope with busy pressured situations

The successful applicant must be able to work weekends and be available for evening events and functions.
Position is part-time with hours varying from approx 16-20 per week and increasing with functions and events over summer.
