Wedding Checklist  

Six to Twelve Months Before 

 Work out a realistic budget, discuss who pays and who makes decisions 

 Choose the date and time of your wedding 

 Book an appointment with the herb farm to come and view the venue and find out everything we can do for  

   your special day 

 Compile a draft guest list (don’t forget both sides of the families) 

 Compile a guest list for your engagement party 

 Announce your engagement party to family and friends 

 Book in the engagement party venue (enquire with us – we can do almost anything!) and send out invitations to  

   the engagement party 

 Decide on your wedding theme and colour scheme – Bliss Event Styling can help with this. 

 Book your wedding and reception venue (the herb farm) and pay the deposit 

 Choose and order your wedding dress and veil 

 Buy wedding shoes
 Buy undergarments for wedding attire (need prior to fittings) 

 Find and book the musicians/DJ/band 

 Find a florist who understands your vision for the day and book them 

 Book the wedding transport (car, helicopter, hot air balloon…) 

 Book the photographer/videographer (we recommend Adam Cowan Photography) 

 Meet the celebrant and book them 

Three to Six Months Before 

 Start thinking about your honeymoon and make reservations, including booking a hotel for your wedding night 

 Choose and order your wedding cake 

 Go bridesmaid’s dress shopping 

 Choose and order the groomsmen’s attire 

 Purchase accessories for the entire bridal party 

 Choose and purchase wedding rings 

 Come in for a relaxing facial and massage at the herb farm beauty retreat 

 Finalise guest list 

 Inform out of town guests of your wedding date 

 Book in with your hairdresser for a consultation and trial run 

 Book in to our beauty retreat for a make-up consultation and trial-run, as well as for the wedding day 

 Choose the design of wedding invitations and stationery and order 

 Organise decorations for ceremony and reception (keep in mind what items are not covered by the venue) 

 Ask for the time off work required for your wedding and honeymoon! 

 Choose a gift registry (if you’re using one) 

 Discuss details of ceremony with celebrant (eg songs, readings etc) 

 Arrange fittings for grooms and groomsmen 

 Send invites and list acceptances and refusals as they return 

 Choose wedding favours for the guests and order. Check out the special range of gifts we offer for a special  

   personalised touch 

Two Months Before 

 Give florist details of colour scheme and agree on flowers 

 Finalise menu and drinks with caterers and give expected numbers 

 Check passports, certificates and legal documents are in order 

 Ask your special guests who will be involved in the ceremony (eg songs, readings etc) 

 Notify anyone required to make a speech 

 Choose an MC 

 Organise and book accommodation for out of town guests (if needed) 

 Start a list of all wedding gifts received 

 Purchase gifts for the bridal party, the herb farm has a great range of gifts available 

 Purchase bridal shoes and accessories 

 Come in to the herb farm beauty retreat for a hand and foot treatment combined with a relaxing neck and  

   shoulder massage to relax your cares away 

 Finalise your music for the day 

 Arrange where your attendants will stand on the day 

 Write your ceremony program 

 Start writing your vows (if you are writing your own) 

 Shop for lingerie and honeymoon clothes 

One Month Before 

 Apply for the marriage license 

 Confirm honeymoon reservations and pick up tickets 

 Book fittings for yourself and your attendants. Wear in your wedding shoes and wear them for the final fitting 

 Chase up late invitation replies and finalise guest list. Write place cards for the reception 

 Work out seating plan for reception. Check that place cards and table settings are in order. 

 Go to the hairdresser with your hair accessories and confirm appointment for the day 

 Come in to the herb farm beauty retreat for a make-up trial run and order your perfect colour lipstick for the big  

   day 

 Meet with your celebrant and check formalities are in order. Set wedding rehearsal date 

 Check transport arrangements and time the journey 

 Give final numbers to your caterer 

 Confirm all arrangements with florist, caterer, transport, photographer etc 

 Arrange hen’s night and/or kitchen tea with your bridesmaids (we do hen’s nights too!) 

 Finalise vows and order of ceremony 

 Come in for that all important and necessary pampering at the herb farm beauty retreat – only one week to go!! 

 Try on bridal gown with all accessories, just to make sure 

One Week Before 

 Have the wedding rehearsal 

 Make sure those giving speeches have remembered 

 Make sure best man has rings and service sheets. Give money in marked envelopes to best man to give to  

   celebrant, musicians etc. 

 Check that suits and any hire items are collected 

 Pack for your honeymoon and arrange for suitcases to be taken to reception venue or hotel 

 Check final details for reception 

 Practice your vows and prepare your speech (if you’re giving one) 

 Arrange for best man to collect and return hired suits 

 Arrange for an appropriate person to take home the bridal gown and accessories, take the gifts safely home  

   and to ensure all hire items get returned 

 Take time out for yourself – the herb farm has plenty to offer – perhaps a delicious lunch with just your  

   bridesmaids or your mum, accompanied by a glass or two of wine and one last pre-wedding indulgence at the   

   beauty retreat 

Wedding Day
 Relax and enjoy your special day. Your wedding day goes very fast so make sure you pause and enjoy the  

   moment and grab a few special minutes alone with your new husband/wife. 

After the Wedding 

 Why not come back and visit the fabulous location you enjoyed your special day at and toast to the good times  

   on your anniversary at the herb farm.
