Our Stance

What We Do

We take pride in creating products that;

  • are made, not only in New Zealand , but on-site at the herb farm in a pure tranquil environment.
  • are made using active herbal extracts, some of which we make from our own gardens.
  • have been formulated by a herbalist (Lynn Kirkland) who understands the  value of botanical simplicity and has an intimate knowledge of the plant world.
  • are created with care and positive intention for their purpose.
  • use only ingredients that are plant derived and have undergone minimal processing.
  • use 100% natural ingredients that have a high natural activity due to  their botanical nature which resonates well within the body.
    AND
  • we actively educate the public about the benefits of using natural products.
  • we use a natural preservative system based on essential oils and plant extracts.
  • we use natural colours made from nature.

What We Don't Do

  • we do not ask a cosmetic company to formulate our products.
  • we do not ask a contract manufacturer to make our products.
  • we do not use synthetic preservatives, like parabens and phenoxyethanol, to give our  products a long shelf life.
  • we do not use petro-chemical derived ingredients.
  • we do not use synthetic colours or fragrances.
  • we do not test on animals. We are Cruelty Free Accredited with the Cruelty Free Organisation and Safe.
  • we do not use excessive packaging. We are aware of the environmental  impact of superfluous packaging and also the cost, which is always passed onto the customer.
  • we do not greenwash, which is when companies use words such as natural and pure  to describe products which contain synthetic chemicals and minimal amounts of pure  ingredients.

10 Nasties To Avoid Wallet Card

As part of our commitment to help people make positive healthy choices for their wellbeing we have produced the '10 Nasties To Avoid' card which is a fantastic guide to keep in your wallet as a quick reference when buying body and skincare products.
The card lists the ten most common 'nasty' ingredients in bodycare products, this is a great prompt when you are checking ingredients lists - information is very powerful and believe people have the right to make informed choices.
Please contact us if you would like a nasties card sent to you.

Check out these websites for more information on parabens and other 'nasties' and why to avoid them!
