Sustainable Business
Sustainability is at the core of our business and has been for almost 17 years. We
are dedicated to having a sustainable business which has minimal impact on the environment
and maximum positive impact on people lives.
We are a member of the Sustainable Business Network and
we were joint winners of the Trailblazer - Small & Medium Business in the
2009 Sustainable Business Awards for the Central and Southern Region.
As a regional winner we went to the NZI National Sustainable Business Awards which
were held in Auckland on the 12th of November 2009.
We were thrilled and honoured to win the same category at this event and it was a wonderful night with
lots of inspirational businesses and people.
This was a fantastic acknowledgement of
what our business is doing to help the planet and the people on it.
Thank you to everyone who voted for us in the People's Choice Award, your support is
appreciated!

Our Latest Sustainability
Initiatives and Achievements
Switch it Off - the implementation of our 'Switch it Off' Staff Campaign. With the help of
the 'Switch it Off' stickers and a rallying of the troops we have achieved significant energy savings in the last 4
months.
Team Yoga - we ran our highly successful 'Team Yoga' programme where a Yoga instructor came
to the herb farm for a series of sessions with our team. This was a great way to help our staff relax while
exercising! The team is still raving about the sessions.
Green Business - we have switched to the 'Greenest' power company out there - Meridian! We
are also looking into changing to a more sustainable bank. We really enjoy working with like-minded companies.
Sustainable Water - we have installed a new water filtering system which means we can use our
own rain water for the manufacturing of our products rather than buying the water in! This saves not only money but
packaging and green miles.
Community Involvement - as a team we participated in the 'One Can' appeal for the Salvation
Army which helped to re-stock the much needed food bank.
